How It Works
The Basement Studio is a young people's music charity in Bristol. It exists to encourage and support young people to express themselves through involvement with music. All young people between the ages of 13-19 can use the Basement, and the organization particularly works with young people who are marginalized because of their race, gender, sexuality or socio/economic background.
In the nearly twenty years it's been running, the Basement's worked with many different organizations - from commercial media companies to other youth groups - nationally and locally.
At the moment the Basement benefits from a unique long-standing partnership with Bristol City Council's Youth Service and Arts Service; and also works with support from Government Office South West via Connexions; REMIX (Bristol's Youth Music Action Zone); Children in Need, The Greater Bristol Foundation and donations from several other groups.
The Basement is constantly developing relationships with other organizations to make sure we can offer young people many different ways to get into music.
